Terms of Service

Comprehensy is an iOS and iPadOS app by Normabase Inc. that helps people learn languages through reading and listening. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the app.
By using Comprehensy, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.
Who can use Comprehensy
Comprehensy is for people aged 16 and older.
By using the app, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use Comprehensy only if a parent or legal guardian agrees to these Terms on your behalf. If you do not meet these requirements, please do not use the app.
Your account
You can sign in with Apple or Google.
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. You are responsible for activity that happens through your account.
Please provide accurate account information where the app asks for it, and keep it up to date.
Subscriptions, trials, and payments
Comprehensy is a subscription-based app. There is no free plan, and access to the app’s features requires a paid subscription.
We may offer a free trial. If you start a trial and do not cancel before it ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription and renew until you cancel.
Subscriptions and payments are handled through the Apple App Store. Billing, renewals, and any applicable taxes are processed by Apple under your Apple Account.
You can manage or cancel your subscription, including a trial, in your Apple App Store account settings. To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or the current period ends.
Subscription options and prices may change. We will not apply a change to a billing period you have already paid for.
Except where required by law or by Apple’s policies, payments are non-refundable. Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple.
When you request a refund through Apple, Apple may ask us for information to help decide your request. You consent to our sharing data about your usage and consumption of purchased content with Apple as part of our efforts to resolve refund requests.
Deleting your Comprehensy account does not automatically cancel your subscription. Active subscriptions must be canceled separately through the Apple App Store.
Content you add
You can add content to Comprehensy, such as articles or other reading materials (“your content”).
You may add content only for your own personal, non-commercial language learning.
You are responsible for your content. You confirm that you have the rights needed to add it and to use it in the app, and that doing so does not break the law or violate anyone else’s rights.
You keep ownership of your content. You give Normabase Inc. a limited license to store, process, and sync your content only as needed to provide the app to you — for example, so you can read it, listen to it, search it, and access it across your devices.
We do not claim ownership of your content, and we do not use the content you add to train AI models.
If a feature uses external AI, speech, translation, or text-processing providers, those providers may process your content only as needed to provide that feature.
Things you agree not to do
When using Comprehensy, you agree not to:
- Break any law or violate anyone else’s rights, including intellectual property rights
- Add content you do not have the right to use, or use the app to infringe copyright
- Use the app for commercial purposes or on behalf of someone else
- Copy, sell, resell, rent, or redistribute the app or any part of it
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or try to extract the source code of the app, except where the law allows it
- Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the app, our servers, or our providers
- Bypass or try to bypass security, access controls, or usage limits
- Access the app using automated means, such as scraping or bots, except as we allow
- Use the app in any way that is harmful, abusive, fraudulent, or deceptive
If you break these Terms, we may limit, suspend, or end your access to the app.
Our content and intellectual property
The app, including its software, design, text, graphics, branding, and other materials we provide, belongs to Normabase Inc. or its licensors. This does not include your content.
While these Terms are in effect and you follow them, we give you a limited, personal, non-transferable, and non-exclusive license to use the app for your own language learning.
You may not use our names, logos, or branding without our permission.
Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions, or feedback about the app, we may use them without any obligation to you. You are not required to send feedback, and we are not required to act on it.
Third-party services
Comprehensy relies on third-party services to work, such as Apple, Google, and the providers listed in our Privacy Policy.
Your use of those services may be governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, and including them in the app does not mean we endorse them.
Changes to the app
Comprehensy may change over time. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features, and we may stop offering the app.
We will try to avoid disrupting your use of the app, but we are not required to keep any specific feature available.
Ending your use of the app
You can stop using Comprehensy at any time. You can delete your account and related data from within the app.
We may limit, suspend, or end your access to the app if you break these Terms, if we need to protect the app or other users, or if we are required to by law.
When your access ends, the parts of these Terms that should reasonably continue will remain in effect, such as the licenses you granted, the disclaimers, the limits of liability, and the sections on governing law and disputes.
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. Active subscriptions must be canceled separately through the Apple App Store.
AI and automated features
Comprehensy uses automated features, including AI, translation, speech, and text-processing, to help you read, listen, and learn.
To keep the app reliable and available for everyone, we may set reasonable limits on how much you can use these features, and we may change those limits over time.
These features will not always be accurate. Output such as translations, explanations, summaries, audio, and answers may be wrong or incomplete.
Please use your own judgment. Do not rely on the app’s output as the only source of truth or as a substitute for professional advice.
Disclaimers
The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the extent allowed by law.
We do not promise that the app will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that it will meet your expectations.
Comprehensy is a language learning tool. We do not guarantee any particular learning result.
Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, Normabase Inc. will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, use, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app.
To the extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim or 100 U.S. dollars.
Some places do not allow certain limits of liability, so some of these limits may not apply to you.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
Any dispute relating to these Terms or the app will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you agree to the jurisdiction of those courts. This does not take away any consumer protection rights you have under the laws of the place where you live.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the app, legal requirements, or other operational reasons.
When we update these Terms, we will update the “Last updated” date above. If the changes are important, we will provide additional notice where required. If you keep using the app after the changes take effect, you agree to the updated Terms.
